Framed photo prints made by hand in the UK
We print and hand-frame every photo print in our UK studio. Not a high-street photo lab, not an outsourced franchise — a small team of framers cutting solid-wood Italian mouldings to size, mounting prints on archival paper, fitting acrylic glazing and shipping finished pieces direct from the workshop. That control is why we can offer finishes most online photo printers can't.
Which framed finish should you choose?
A traditional mounted framed print is the classic gallery look — the print sits behind a card mat with a window cut around the image, framed in solid wood. An oversized mount gives a single image extra wall presence by widening the mat around it. A float mounted print sits on top of the backing board with the edges fully visible — the fine-art finish, ideal for photos you want to treat as artwork. Larger statement frames are for feature walls and rooms where one image needs to dominate.
Paper, frames, glazing — what we use
We print on 310gsm cotton-rag paper as standard — archival, acid-free, with fade-resistant pigment inks. The same paper used by galleries and limited-edition print houses. Frames are real-wood Italian mouldings, hand-finished to size in our studio. Mounts are conservation-grade. Glazing is shatter-resistant acrylic. Every finished piece is built to hang for decades.
Sizes and formats
Portrait, landscape and square, in a range of standard sizes from desk prints at 9 inches by 12 inches up to statement pieces at 24 inches by 32 inches and equivalent metric sizes. For wide-format imagery we offer a dedicated panoramic framed photo print. Bespoke sizes are available on request — get in touch before ordering.
