What is a Float Mounted Photo?

Float mounting is a premium framing technique where the photograph is fixed in front of the backing board rather than under a mat board. The edges of the print remain fully visible, and a small shadow gap surrounds the image — creating the illusion that the print is floating inside the frame. It's the same finish used for gallery and fine-art presentation.
