Framed square photo prints

Square is the format that suits Instagram exports, portraits cropped tight, and modern photographic compositions. Upload any square image and we will print it on archival paper and hand-frame it in our UK studio. Choose between a traditional mat, an oversized mount, or the float mount finish for a fine-art look.

Square sizes we offer

12 inches by 12 inches (30cm by 30cm), 16 inches by 16 inches (40cm by 40cm), 20 inches by 20 inches (50cm by 50cm), and 24 inches by 24 inches (60cm by 60cm). The closest equivalent to a large vinyl record sleeve is 12 inches square; for a feature wall, go 20 inches square or above.

Mount style makes the difference

A square framed print with an oversized mount becomes a centred, gallery-style piece — the mat draws the eye inward to the image. A float mounted square print is the modern look — edges visible, shadow gap, the print as object. Both are made in our studio.

HOW IT WORKS

Made by hand, finished like a gallery.

Square crop, square frame

Upload any photograph and crop to square in the designer above. The framed finish keeps the composition exactly as you shot it — no awkward margins, no forced rebalance.

Solid wood, conservation mount

Hand-cut conservation card mount, solid-wood frame built to size in our UK studio. Choose Black or White moulding. Acrylic glazing as standard.

Built for grids

Consistent proportions across every order — pair, quad, or full gallery wall. Square format makes hanging straightforward, and every frame is built from the same wood stock for visual parity.

About

Framed square photo prints, made by hand in our UK studio. Upload any square crop — Instagram favourite, record-sleeve composition, family portrait — and we will print it on archival 310gsm cotton-rag paper and hand-frame it in solid wood. The square format gives the image equal weight in every direction; the framed finish gives it gallery presence.

Why square?

The square format treats the subject without bias — neither landscape's horizontal sweep nor portrait's vertical pull. It is the format of medium-format film, of vinyl LP sleeves, of Instagram. For photography that already lives in a square crop, framing it square keeps the composition exactly as you shot it. No awkward white space, no forced rebalance.

Mounted, framed, finished by us

Every framed square photo print is printed in our UK studio on 310gsm cotton-rag paper, mounted behind a hand-cut conservation card mount, and framed in a solid-wood moulding built to size. Acrylic glazing as standard. Choose Black or White frame. No outsourcing, no flat-pack.

Pairs and grids

Square frames work in series. Order two for a matched pair above a console, four for a 2×2 grid above a sofa, nine for a gallery wall. Because every frame is built to size, the spacing and proportions stay consistent across the set.

About square framed prints

Why pick a square frame over portrait or landscape?

The square format is best when your photograph is already a square crop — Instagram shots, medium-format film, album-sleeve compositions. Framing square keeps the image exactly as shot, with no forced rebalance.

What sizes does the square framed print come in?

A range of square sizes from desk-scale to wall-statement. The designer above shows live previews at each size. For bespoke larger square sizes, contact us before ordering.

Can I order matching pairs or a grid?

Yes. Order multiple square frames at the same size for matched pairs, quad arrangements, or full gallery walls. Every frame is built from the same wood stock so the set stays visually consistent.

02

Paper, frames, finish

Is the frame real wood?

Yes. Solid-wood mouldings from Italian suppliers, hand-finished and built to size in our UK studio. No MDF, no plastic. Conservation mount and acrylic glazing as standard.

What paper do you print on?

310gsm cotton-rag paper as standard — archival, acid-free, with fade-resistant pigment inks. The same paper used by museums and limited-edition print houses.
