Framed prints from digital photos and artwork

Have a digital photo, a JPEG you've been meaning to print, an AI-generated artwork, a piece you commissioned, or an illustration you bought as a download? Upload the file and we will produce it as a hand-framed, float mounted print. No high-street limits on size or finish.

Frame digital art the way the artist intended

Digital art, AI prints and illustrations belong in a frame that matches the work. Flat-mounted prints behind generic glass don't do them justice. A float mounted gallery box frame gives a digital file the same presence as a limited-edition fine-art print — visible deckled edges, archival paper, real wood mouldings.

How it works

Upload the highest-resolution version of your file in the designer above. We print at 300dpi on 310gsm cotton-rag paper using archival pigment inks, hand-finish the deckled edge if you opt in, then float mount inside a White or Black gallery box frame. Delivered ready to hang.

HOW IT WORKS

Made by hand, finished like a gallery.

Upload any image, pick the size, choose the frame. We do the rest — printed on archival paper and hand-framed in our UK studio.

Float mounted by hand

Your image is mounted on top of the backing board with a shadow gap around every edge. The print appears to float inside the frame — the same finish galleries use for fine art.

Solid wood gallery box frames

Handmade in our UK studio from Italian wood mouldings. Choose White or Black. Real wood, deep box profile, no MDF.

About float mounted prints

Float mounted, gallery-grade, made by hand

Float mounting is a premium framing technique where the print is fixed in front of the backing board rather than under a mat. The edges of the print remain fully visible, with a small shadow gap surrounding the image — creating the illusion that the print is floating inside the frame. It's the same finish galleries use for fine art and museum-quality photography, and it's a notoriously hard look for a high-street print lab to deliver.

Float mounted photo prints

A float mounted photo print earns wall space. The frame's depth, the shadow gap and the full visibility of the print edge give a family photo, a landscape, a portrait or a wedding image the same presence as a piece of fine art. Most high-street labs can only flat-mount behind glass — we float mount by hand in the studio. The result is the kind of framed photo print you would normally see in a gallery, not a shop window.

Deckled edge — the fine-art detail

If you've ever seen a fine-art print up close, you'll have noticed the irregular, slightly torn edge to the paper. That's a deckled edge. On a float mounted print, the deckled edge is fully visible — exactly the reason float mounting exists. We can add a hand-finished deckled edge to any size of float mounted print at no extra charge — choose it as an option in the designer. Search terms like deckled edge print, deckled edge framed print, torn edge print and deckled photo prints all describe the same finish.

Archival & conservation float mounting

Archival float mounting means the print is mounted with acid-free, museum-grade materials so it doesn't yellow, warp or degrade over years on a wall. We use 310gsm cotton-rag paper, acid-free backing board and conservation-grade hinges — the same standards used for limited-edition fine-art prints and museum framing. If your image is one you want to keep on the wall for decades, this is the way to frame it.

Premium paper, real-wood gallery frames

Every print is produced and framed in our own UK studio. We print on 310gsm cotton-rag paper with archival pigment inks, then float mount inside a handmade solid-wood gallery box frame from Italian mouldings. Available in White or Black, in portrait and landscape sizes from 9" x 12" up to 24" x 32" and metric equivalents.

Float mounted prints

What is a float mounted print?

Float mounting fixes the print in front of the backing board, so the edges of the print are fully visible and a shadow gap surrounds the image. The print appears to float inside the frame — a gallery-grade finish for photographs and artwork alike.

What is a deckled edge?

A deckled edge is an irregular, hand-finished edge to the paper — the same look you'd see on a limited-edition fine-art print. Because float mounting leaves the print edge fully visible, a deckled edge becomes part of the finished piece. We offer deckled edge as an option in the designer at no extra cost.

Is the float mounting archival?

Yes. We use 310gsm cotton-rag paper, acid-free backing board and conservation-grade mounting — the standards used by galleries and museums. Your print is built to last on the wall without yellowing or warping.

How is it different from a mounted photo print?

A traditional mounted print is held in place behind a card mat board, with the mat overlapping the edges of the print. A float mounted print sits on top of a backing or mount board with the edges visible and a shadow gap around it giving the ilussion of it floating within the frame.

What sizes and frames are available?

Portrait and landscape sizes from 9" x 12" (22cm x 30cm) up to 24" x 32" (60cm x 80cm), framed in White or Black handmade solid-wood gallery box frames.

Where are the prints made?

Every float mounted photo print is printed and hand-framed in our UK studio. No outsourcing.
