Mounted photo prints

Mounted photo prints are the gallery standard for displaying photography. The print itself is sized to sit on or behind a mount board — either a card mat that frames the image with a clean window, or a fine-art float mount that puts the print on top of the board with its edges fully visible. Every mounted photo print we sell is produced in our UK studio on 310gsm cotton-rag paper, the same archival stock used by museums and limited-edition print houses.

Three mounted finishes, three ways to display

A standard photo print arrives sized to fit a card mount — perfect if you already have a frame, or want to mat-mount the print yourself before framing. A framed and mounted photo is the classic gallery finish: archival paper behind a conservation card mount, hand-framed in solid wood with acrylic glazing. A float mounted photo print is the contemporary fine-art finish — the photograph sits on top of the backing board with shadow gaps around every edge, treating the image as artwork.

Why mount a photo print at all?

Mounting protects the print, lifts it off the wall, and gives the image room to breathe. A card mount adds a margin of negative space that draws the eye into the photograph. A float mount makes the photo feel like a single physical object. Both finishes preserve the print on rigid backing board and pair properly with acrylic glazing so the surface stays flat over time.

We do not outsource. Every mounted photo print is printed on our own equipment, mounted by hand, and where framed, finished in solid wood mouldings from Italian suppliers. Conservation-grade mount board, acrylic glazing on framed finishes, and a level of craft that the high-street photo labs do not offer.
